Max WavesMusica est scientia bene modulandiA long review...

"Reflections" review by Activeminded©I have known Australian based Marie Craven for a couple of years now and have grown to love her voice. This offering with Max Waves (who I am new to) shows off her vocal talent to the fullest potential. Max Waves is Italian born producer with "classical influences" that is clearly evident in his musical score and structure, but there is something else going on with he music as too. While there are classical influences, I can hear echoes Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk in this creations. An "unlikely" combination of Italian and Australian ingredients thrown into the mixing pot of sound, but does this work.... Yes... "Perfectly"It opens so innocuously, unassuming and with out any preconceptions of or its message to you. Just a beat and a Rhodes and deep bass line with some excellent pitching. Then the beats stop the bass pitches downward and the track unfolds beautifully. The vocal content is crystal clear, resonant and matches the chord progression with exquisite complimentary interaction. Each verse and chorus sequence is structured perfectly and as the track continues to draw the listener in even deeper. The haunting clarinet is an excellent choice and for the lead, its played in the high range, in back ground with some reverb to create the illusion of "calling at you from a distance" effect, and it works so well. Top marks for Max here because this is excellent work he has the interplay working very well with the root notes matching beautifully. After the instrumental break and vocal solo you get a pleasant surprise, Marie kind of rap's vocals in spoken word with heavy reverb (radio) which adds more to your listening interest and pleasure. This gives the track the nudge it so needs in the credibility stakes and makes the track current. It also demonstrates this duo's nous music and gives the track credibility which can cross genre boundaries, and it will win vote's from other producers and vocalists as well!! If your looking for the morning after cure from the night before, or your just want to sit back with your hands behind your head and listen to some music, or your struggling to sleep, or your in the arms of your lover, this track fulfils all those requirements. "Premium Quality and Stylish Electronic Production" Soulful ambience and a world class vocals. Distant [Smokers Club Remix]Music for Microworlds first impressions...
- [vote 9/10] San064 - Jamendo user "The soft yet controlled voice of Pixieguts will warm your heart and amaze your ears... the music is exquisite, gentle, ambient, and deliciously mellow for the shattered nerves after a trying day... this is music for the night - soothing... magical..." "Congratulations for finishing the album Max, Music for Microworlds is yet another excellent album you've somehow found the time to create with beautiful tracks, subtle sounds, fine textures, wonderful choice of instruments and it's so well produced as usual maestro. Pixie's vocals are impressive and stunning, it's great that you two have worked together so successfully and whoever wrote the lyrics deserves some credit as well, soulful bliss. It's been a long time coming but well worth the wait." "I LOVED 'Nachtmusik', so downloaded this first to have a listen before reviewing. However have just listened to Reflections…and having wiped all the tears off the keyboard have just got to say this is the best track I have heard this year. You really should send this out to a few labels…this is absolutely sensational. Pixieguts’ voice just sends shivers..the soft ‘rap’ towards the end is amazing, the lyrics are magic…poetry standard, and your soft accompanyment with just the keys & gentle strings sets it off beautifully. I haven’t listened to the rest yet, but Reflections is 10+10+10. Thanks to all of you for making and sharing a truely great song."
